National Bureau of Statistics reveals that the unemployment rate in Nigeria has risen from 13.1% in last quarter of 2016 to 19.1% in first quarter of 2017. This calls for an aggressive sensitization on the need for undergraduate students to reevaluate their employability skills and to build capacity on their entrepreneurial skills. As the University of Uyo second semester resumes, the need assessment for a one day capacity building entrepreneurial programme has been designed to prepare students for the employment market. This rationally justify the hosting of the “WELCOME BACK TO CAMPUS ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPO SUMMIT AND MUSIC CONCERT” with the theme: BE THE BOSS!!! – BUSINESS ORIENTED SUCCESSFUL STUDENT.
BE THE BOSS is a one day capacity building entrepreneurial expo summit and music concert designed in two phases. This is a 7 hours event that start by 1pm on 10th May 2017 with a summit session and proceed to the music concert 5pm to 8pm.
