2018 UNIUYO SUG Elections: Abasianam James condemns Destruction of Emmanuel Ernest’s campaign Materials

Comrade Abasianam James, an aspirant for the position of President in the coming 2018 UNIUYO SUG Elections; condemned the destructive acts by Students on campaign materials of fellow presidential aspirant Emmanuel Ernest.

He made this known in a Facebook post dated June 17th, 2018 at around 4.30pm. He used the post to also make it known to his fellow comrade that this act is not the lifestyle of Akwa Ibomites to “Outsiders”, but rather an action of those who are normally destructive.

He also made it known that personally he has faced such nefarious mutilation and sent words of consolation to Emmanuel while also letting students know that Emmanuel has every right to exercise his franchise and had scaled through screening.

Read his full statement below:

I, Comrade Abasianam James and the #GraceProject team, condemn in strong terms the barbaric action meted out on the campaign flex banners of my fellow Comrade, Emmanuel Ernest Tuseh. Such acts are so unbefitting of any member of a civilized community such as the University of Uyo. I state categorically clear that Comrade Emmanuel is not only qualified to stand election in the University, but is also very welcome to exercise his franchise in as much as he possesses the necessary qualifications.

#GraceProject team wishes to assure the supporters of Emmanuel that such action is in no way a reflection of the perception of the people of akwa Ibom towards Mr Tuseh even as I also suffered such nefarious mutilation of my campaign materials at different times.

To this end, I stand in solidarity with Mr Tuseh and condemn such acts of cowardice and barbarism.

Abasianam James
SUG PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE
