Panic as SUG Senate President Refused to Sign Portal Closure Extension Request

Reports reaching UniUyoGist has it that there was a little panic ensued between Personal Assistants of the SUG President and the Senate President of the Union, Rt. Hon. Johnny Itah over refusal of the former to sign a letter from the Union to the School Management requesting for the extensiin of the date for portal closure.

The schools portal for fees payment and course registration is to be closed of Friday, 22nd March, 2019. But on complaints from students over inability to either raise enough money to pay the fees in full or register courses, the SUG President decided to write a letter to the school management requesting for the extension of the time given for payment of fees and course regostration.

This letter needs to be endorsed by 4 principal members of the Union, in which the SUG Senate President is one. All other persons had signed but when it got to Rt. Hon. Itah, our sources have it that he at first was reluctant to endorse the letter of request, until after series of delibrations on the pros and cons of this request.

No information was recieved on which date the SUG is requesting but rumours from other sources have it that they are looking towards next month. This letter when it gets to the VC will be sent to the VC academics and Staff at the Portal to verify the number of students who are yet to pay fees and complete the registration process.

After the verification and confirmation, if the number of people who are yet to complete the process is really low, then an extension will be granted.
