The first Akwa Ibom Education Submit began today at Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio Hall located at Udo Udoma Avenue. The submit will last for two days and is aimed at providing a platform for teachers, principals, policymakers, education officials, parents and students to consider how to move the educational system closer to that elusive ideal.
The first day of the submit was well attended. It was graced by the presence of the state governor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel; his deputy, Mr. Moses Ekpo; former governor of the state, Obong (Arc.) Victor Attah; secretary to the state government, head of civil service, commissioners, permanent secretaries, members of the state house of assembly, clergymen, educationist, tertiary institution lecturers, teachers in primary and secondary school and the general public.
The keynote address on the 1st day was presented by the Dean, Students’ Affairs, University of Uyo, Dr. Aniekan Brown.
