Barr. Etefia Ekanem has been appointed as the dean of students affairs department of University of Uyo on an initial acting basis. Until his appointment, Etefia was the deputy dean of the said department, assisting Dr. Aniekan Brown.

Etefia is a lecturer in the faculty of law in the University of Uyo. He is the co-ordinator of the post graduate program of the said faculty. He obtained his Ph.D from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
