Schools in Taraba to re-open 21st September

Taraba state government has concluded plans to re-open basic and secondary schools on Monday, September 21, 2020 after the COVID-19 scare.

Making the plan public yesterday in Jalingo, the state’s Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education said the decision was arrived at after several meetings with principals, parents, and the board members.

Schools in Taraba and other parts of the country were forced to shut down in the wake of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) six months ago.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Johannes Jigem, said the schools were to be re-opened based on the directive of Governor Darius Ishaku.

“Directives have been sent to all principals, headmasters, and proprietors,” he added.
